Amy Gillett Foundation


One of the key objectives of the Tour de Valley is to have a positive contribution to cycling in the community. Through our partnership with the Amy Gillett Foundation we support an organization that is committed to making it safer for everyone to ride a bike.


The Amy Gillett Foundation is Australia’s leading cycling safety organisation and continues to promote actions to make cycling safer across the nation. The foundation works to create a safer bike riding environment in Australia by promoting laws such as ‘a metre matters’, safer vehicles and safer speeds, investment in cycling infrastructure, educating cyclists to respect and obey road laws as well as driver education on how to safely share the road. Tour De Valley has proudly supported the Amy Gillett Foundation as our event charity since 2011.

Saturday October 20

Musgrave Street at Kirra will be closed between Pacific Parade roundabout and Miles Street intersections between 6.30am and 1pm. Detours will be established via Coolangatta Road for through traffic.


Sunday October 21

Currumbin Creek Road will be closed to traffic from the Fordyce Close intersection (Crystal Cottage) to the end of the valley between 6am and 11am. Speed limits will be reducted to 60 kph for the remainder of Currumbin Creek Road to the Galleon Way intersection.
The left hand lane of Galleon Way will be closed to traffic in both directions in the vicinity of the Merv Craig Sporting Complex.
Motorists are advised to avoid the Galleon Way/Currumbin Creek Road intersection between 7am and 11am if possible to avoid delays and assist with the safety of the event.
